How To Install Disqus Comments Plugin for Social Media Sharing on WordPress
Bring about discussion across the social media sites with this cool commenting system for WordPress.
The Disqus plugin for WordPress websites is great for the online community because it allows people to share comments easily across the internet with their friends on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and many more favorites! I have recently installed this commenting system on my website, and have found it to be both powerful and easy to use.
The SEO factor is great too because every website owner wants their visitors to be able to share their content around to as many places on the web as possible. This is how we get our message out what our website is about and help other people find us too. Online marketing is a crowded place these days so help with sharing with social media sites is a bonus.
See at AffiliateMarketersCollege how implementing SEO link building tactics will encourage other people to share your quality content around with one another to get you free traffic to your site.
To Install watch the video above for a step by step tutorial. Go to your WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Search for “disqus commenting system” and “Install”. You can also see more here at WordPress.Org
Disqus also helps with unwanted spammers on your commenting system. It allows you to also incorporate Akismet and this platform will allow for much reduced spam comments which can be a real problem for many websites, especially marketing sites. As you can see there are many options for how you want it set up to suit yourself.
If the site has enabled media attachments, video is allowed. All you need to do is paste the link to the image or video (e.g. a YouTube link). A media attachment formatting is created after posting the comment, which includes a thumbnail and title. Advanced and maybe not necessary on many sites – but cool!
Disqus offers both blacklists and whitelists. After marking comments as spam, you may add the commenter to your blacklist. Alternatively, you could require pre-moderation on all comments and then add trusted commenters to your whitelist.
By controlling who comments on your site, you can decide who is allowed to comment, hence preventing spam or other undesirable comments from being posted on your site. You can view these options under Disqus Settings > General.
