I am covering this topic briefly because many beginners to affiliate marketing ask where they can find a free affiliate program?

When you join up with any affiliate program it should ALWAYS be free! If not do not consider joining as it possibly is a scam. I have never heard of having to pay. So first you will join an affiliate network. These websites offer a large directory of merchant companies which you can join.

Joining an affiliate network is also free. These companies want you to sell their products and services so they shouldn’t charge you for it. After all you need to work on the promotions and this takes time and effort! Just be sure you only promote things that closely related to your niche market.

Using larger affiliate networks is what I prefer. I want to be sure I get support if needed, get access to all my data and can trust their sales tracking methods. The companies that have been online for years usually have their systems running without problems and have support when you need it.The larger well known affiliate networks also have systems in place which makes it easy to follow your reports and how many sales you make.

Commission Junction, Share a sale, Clix Galore  and Clickbank are the ones I use but there are many more reputable networks online. Arguably some of the best affiliate programs are digital information products (ClickBank) because the commission is higher. This is due to the fact there are fewer overheads.

Remember, you only need to join up with 1 or 2 companies to begin with. Only target products and services that are specifically about  your website or blog. Also make sure the merchant sends the product to your selected country. More site set up and help for “affiliate marketing for dummies” here.
